Kituwa IT · Business hardware reuse & recycling

Give useful hardware
a second working life.

Before you get rid of it, let’s see what it can still do for your business. Many existing computers can become useful file, backup, photo, or application servers—with the right setup.

Our first choice is to help you keep using what you own. When equipment no longer fits, we can coordinate collection, refurbishment, resale, parts recovery, or recycling.

Businesses onlyNationwide requestsReuse comes first

Start with what you have

A new job for an existing computer.

You may not need to buy a server. We assess the equipment, your goals, and the costs of keeping it running, then recommend a sensible next use. Age, condition, support, storage, and power consumption all matter.

01 · SHARED FILES & BACKUPS

Keep important work close.

Use suitable hardware for shared files or a separate backup destination. A backup still needs its own plan and restore checks.

02 · PHOTOS & DOCUMENTS

Organize what you already have.

Explore an Immich photo library or Paperless-ngx document system, sized for your data and the hardware’s capabilities.

03 · BUSINESS APPLICATIONS

Run a useful service.

Host a compatible application, monitoring tool, or internal system without replacing a healthy computer unnecessarily.

The assessment is optional. Conversion includes a basic suitability check for one machine; parts, migration, backups, and extra work are quoted separately. You keep your hardware.

When it is time to retire equipment

Business pickups, coordinated around your location.

Send us your ZIP code, equipment list, approximate weight, and access details. We confirm whether collection is practical, identify who will collect and receive the equipment, and give you a written quote before scheduling.

Depending on location, weight, condition, and value, equipment may go to Kituwa or directly to an agreed local refurbishment, resale, or recycling provider. Nationwide requests are welcome; availability is confirmed for each location.

Pickup starts at $249. Collection is a paid service. Any equipment purchase or resale credit is a separate written agreement, not an automatic offset against the pickup fee.

What we consider for collection.

Our main focus

  • Business desktops, laptops, workstations, and servers
  • NAS units, storage systems, and removable drives
  • Switches, routers, firewalls, and network equipment
  • Compatible parts and accessories included in an agreed collection

Working and non-working items can be assessed. Acceptance is confirmed from the inventory.

Ask before including these

Monitors, printers, large racks, UPS units, and batteries may need a separate route and fee. Damaged or swollen batteries require specialist assessment and are not part of a standard collection.

We do not offer household pickups or general junk removal. TVs, appliances, hazardous materials, and equipment outside the approved list are not accepted through the standard service.

Choose what happens to your drives

Secure data erasure, with a record for each drive.

You can keep your drives, arrange documented sanitization, or request specialist physical destruction. Pickup alone does not include data erasure.

Keep your drives

Retain storage media before equipment leaves. Accessible drive removal can be included in an approved on-site service or quoted separately.

Erase and verify

We agree on a supported method, record the drives, review completion and verification results, and document any failures or exceptions.

From $349 on site, including up to three eligible drives. Additional eligible drives on the same visit: $35 each.

Request destruction

Physical destruction is arranged with a suitable specialist. On-site witnessed work depends on local availability, media type, and the required method.

Projects from $499, subject to a confirmed provider quote. No equipment is destroyed without written authorization.

Verification documents the agreed process and checks; it is not an unlimited forensic-recovery guarantee. Kituwa does not claim independent data-destruction or recycler certification. Specialist credentials and any requested documentation are confirmed for the actual provider before booking.

How the handoff works.

  1. Describe the equipment. Share the list, condition, location, and what you want to keep using.
  2. Choose the route. We agree on reuse, collection, data handling, the provider, and the price.
  3. Authorize the exact work. Confirm ownership, approved equipment and drives, backups, and any retention restrictions.
  4. Receive the record. Get an itemized collection acknowledgement and the sanitization or destruction records included in your quote.

Collected equipment may be refurbished, resold, used for parts, or routed for recycling. Ownership transfers only as agreed in the collection paperwork. This is a commercial service, not a charitable donation program.

Common questions.

Can you make any old computer into a server?

No. We look at the workload, hardware condition, support, reliability, and running cost. A healthy business PC can be useful; an unsuitable one may cost more to keep running than to replace. We explain the recommendation before you commit.

Who handles pickup or on-site work?

Kituwa IT may perform on-site work directly where practical or arrange a local provider. We tell you who is doing the work and where equipment is going before you approve it. We do not promise a Kituwa-owned truck in every city.

Can I watch my drives being erased or destroyed?

On-site erasure is booked around a confirmed technician and processing window. Witnessed physical destruction can be quoted when a suitable local provider is available. Tell us your requirements before booking; we will confirm the method and documentation.

What happens if a drive cannot be erased successfully?

It is recorded as failed or unresolved and is not released for reuse. You choose whether to retain it or approve a suitable alternative. A failed operation is never reported as successful sanitization.

Do I receive a certificate?

Erasure includes a per-drive service report. Physical-destruction documentation is issued for the work the specialist actually performs and records. If your organization requires a specific certificate, accreditation, or handling procedure, send those requirements first so we can confirm a suitable provider.

Do you wipe backups, cloud accounts, and every copy of my data?

No. The scope is the agreed media inventory. Backups, cloud storage, other computers, and copies held elsewhere require separate decisions. You must preserve anything you need and confirm that the approved media can be erased.

Start with a useful next step

Tell us what is sitting unused.

In your message, include your business name and ZIP code, approximate device count and models, condition, total weight if known, stairs or loading access, and whether you want to reuse equipment, keep the drives, erase them, or request destruction.

Do not send passwords or confidential files. We will agree on the equipment, data-handling plan, and price before scheduling anything.
