Prepare your server

Choose your operating system and the applications you want installed before shipping. We confirm compatibility before the build.

1. Choose your operating system
2. Choose your softwareOpen the checklist to select applications

Compatible software preinstallation is included. Data migration, custom workflows, paid licenses, and ongoing support are separate.

3. Optional setup servicesRequest a quote for the help you need

These boxes request a separate quote. They do not add a charge or purchase a service. No optional service is included unless agreed and paid for separately.

We confirm your selected OS, applications, hardware compatibility, timing, and any extra costs before ordering components. Final setup is your responsibility unless you arrange a separate setup service.

Ask about this setup

Choose one server package, select the operating system, and tell us what you want it to run.

Every Kituwa IT server is built to order, assembled, tested, and prepared before shipping. Choose from five standard builds, or contact us for a larger custom server or multi-server deployment. We size systems around your workload, storage growth, recovery needs, and budget.

More applications require stronger hardware.

The number of applications is only part of the picture. User count, photo indexing, video conversion, automation jobs, databases, and storage growth also affect performance. We review your requested software before ordering components and will tell you if the selected package is not a sensible fit.

Larger custom servers and infrastructure

Planning budgets below are estimates, not fixed-price offers or checkout options. Each project requires a workload review, current supplier pricing, and an approved written quote. Exact specifications, hardware condition, deployment work, warranty coverage, and delivery costs are listed in that quote. Projects may exceed these ranges.

Business Performance — planning budget $7,500–$12,000

For businesses consolidating multiple applications or virtual machines onto one more capable system. Discuss an ECC-capable server platform, 128–256 GB memory, mirrored SSD storage, and 10 Gb networking. These are design options, not guaranteed specifications at the bottom of the range.

Storage & Backup — planning budget $12,000–$25,000

For large file collections, media libraries, and centralized backup storage. We quote drive count, usable capacity after redundancy, growth space, network performance, and a separate backup destination. Backup hardware, off-site storage, and restore testing are explicitly scoped; RAID alone is not a backup.

Virtualization & Private Cloud — planning budget $20,000–$40,000

For multiple business workloads, more demanding virtual machines, or a separately scoped virtual desktop deployment. Discuss 256–512 GB or greater memory, enterprise storage, remote management, and vendor-supported hardware. User capacity depends on tested workloads; Windows, VDI, and other paid licensing are quoted separately.

Multi-Server Infrastructure — planning budget $40,000–$100,000+

For projects involving several hosts, dedicated backup systems, faster networking, and documented recovery procedures. High availability, failover, recovery objectives, and specialist engineering are included only when specifically designed, priced, and accepted in the written scope. A higher hardware budget does not itself provide guaranteed uptime or 24/7 support.

GPU and private AI systems are also available by individual assessment and quote. Model size, GPU memory, software compatibility, power, and cooling determine the design and price.

How a custom project works

  1. Contact us with your applications, current hardware, data size, growth plans, and target budget. We first consider whether suitable equipment can be reused.
  2. We confirm feasibility and provide a written scope with an itemized hardware and services quote. Any paid discovery or specialist work requires agreement first.
  3. Before procurement, the agreed initial payment covers ordered hardware, shipping, non-cancellable third-party costs, and the first project milestone. Remaining payments follow the written milestone schedule.
  4. We build and test the agreed system, complete the scoped deployment, and provide handover documentation. Migration, on-site work, training, backup services, and ongoing care are included only when explicitly listed.

Custom quotes are normally valid for seven calendar days, subject to supplier availability. No material substitution or additional work proceeds without agreement. Taxes and delivery are itemized. Manufacturer or supplier warranty terms and Kituwa workmanship coverage are specified per project; ongoing support and service-level commitments require a separate agreement.

Choose the operating system

Linux Mint — desktop starts automatically
A familiar graphical desktop appears at startup. Best when you want to manage the server locally with a monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
Linux Mint — manual desktop startup
The server starts in command-line mode for lower overhead. A graphical desktop is installed and can be started manually when needed.
Ubuntu Server — no desktop GUI
A streamlined server-focused installation intended primarily for web-based and remote administration.
Software you can request

Tell us which applications you want before the build is finalized. Common requests include:

  • Backups and remote access: backup scheduling, secure remote access, and basic health monitoring
  • Private files and collaboration: Nextcloud, Syncthing, BookStack, and compatible office tools
  • Photos and documents: Immich and Paperless-ngx
  • Media: Jellyfin and compatible media-management tools
  • Passwords and internal tools: Vaultwarden and other approved self-hosted applications
  • Automation and monitoring: n8n and Uptime Kuma

Use the server configurator to plan the system, or send your requested list after ordering. Additional software can be requested if it is not listed. Standard packages include basic preinstallation of up to three agreed compatible applications on one host; custom workflows, data migration, paid licenses, extensive configuration, and ongoing administration are separate services.

What every server includes
  • The hardware listed for the selected package
  • Assembly, component testing, storage checks, and system updates
  • Your selected operating system installed
  • Basic preinstallation of up to three agreed compatible applications on one host before shipment
  • Basic build documentation and recovery information
  • A pre-build review of workload, compatibility, exact components, hardware condition, and expected timing
Setup and optional services

You can handle final setup yourself or request a separate quote for remote setup, data migration, backup configuration, staff training, monitoring, or ongoing maintenance. Requesting a quote does not add a charge to this order.

With self-setup, you are responsible for final network configuration, user accounts, permissions, backups, internet exposure, and ongoing administration. Any prepared remote access requires your authorization.

Build, delivery, and hardware substitutions

Exact component models, new or refurbished condition, operating system, software compatibility, requested settings, build timing, and delivery arrangements are confirmed before components are ordered. If a listed part is unavailable, no material substitution is made without agreement.

Shipping, tax, paid licenses, on-site work, migration, training, custom development, and ongoing maintenance are not included unless shown at checkout or agreed separately. Do not send passwords through ordinary email or order notes.

Storage, backups, and warranty

Drive capacities are nominal; formatted capacity is lower. Mirroring and RAID can reduce downtime after certain drive failures, but they do not replace an independent backup. Important data needs a separate backup plan.

For the five standard packages, a one-year limited hardware warranty and 90-day workmanship coverage apply to supplied hardware and agreed pre-shipment work. Ongoing technical support is not included. Read the warranty and support terms.

Plan the next step

These optional services are separately scoped and priced. We confirm overlap so the same work is not charged twice.

Planning an on-site visit?

Contact us before buying a service that requires travel. On-site availability and travel are confirmed separately. Travel time is $75 per hour round trip, quoted in 30-minute increments, plus approved vehicle expenses, parking, and tolls. Long-distance trips are individually quoted. Technical labor is separate, and travel already included in an accepted quote or pickup fee is not charged twice.

We agree on the starting location, total travel allowance, expenses, and timing before you commit. Later changes to our own itinerary do not increase your accepted travel quote. A service purchase alone does not authorize an additional travel charge or reserve a visit.
